EEA Grant Project “Salmon and salmon fish in our rivers – from history to the present”
The project “Salmon and salmon fish in our rivers – from history to the present” (2021-2023) is funded under the Norwegian Financial Mechanism Programme Reine NF SGS-4 – 3.1.4.1 and led by Nemeleme, z. s. with its head office in Rapotín, K Mlýnu 186, 78814. The focus is on education on the topic of salmon and other salmonid fish populations in the CR. The youth is addressed by educational films and educational publications. The teaching material contains basic information about the importance of river ecosystems and information about fish communities, their importance and the life of salmonid fish. Project activities aimed at the professional public in the form of online presentations and workshops will focus on current conflict issues related to rivers and salmonid fish (eg poisoning, returning adult salmon, construction of new dams and weirs, aquaculture, stream quality, predation in trout waters, etc.). The professional public has been provided with information from the implemented managements in the form of professional seminars in order to support river ecosystems and salmonid fish stocks themselves. There has been a great interest among the angling organizations, as well as other entities, especially in the innovated method of incubating eggs in the mother stream. The implementation of educational activities is also focused on experiential pedagogy, where individual educational and educational activities are implemented directly in the field. Sciencemonastery AS is a project partner and has contributed to field visits, workshops and to the preparation of the English version of teaching materials.
EEA Grant Project “Innovation and application of the methodology of incubation of protected fish species and lampreys“
The call “RAGO” was announced under the Programme „Environment, Ecosystems and Climate Change“ (hereinafter referred to as the “Programme”) and is financed from Norway Grants 2014 – 2021. The project “Innovation and application of the methodology of incubation of protected fish species and lampreys” is led by researchers from the University of Ostrava (Czech Republic) and related to a research project entitled: „The development of the methodology for the incubation of the selected salmon species and the innovation of the fish egg incubation boxes “(TJ02000229), funded by the Technology Agency of Czech Republic. The main output was the methodology, which is unique in the ability to support and to restore the rheophilic fish population directly in the natural river habitat and to assess the potential risks for selected species caused by the impact of climate and land use change. The current project will lead to further innovation of the methodology to another species such as Common barbel, Vimba vimba, Common nase, Ide and lampreys. Sciencemonastery AS contributes with a review about the impact of the climate change to the hydrological regime to the selected Norwegian streams.

Pilgrimage 2019
In May and June 2019 I realized my first longer pilgrimage in Central Europe. I started in Hennersdorf, the small German village where I grew up. It is situated on the “Holy Path” (Heiliger Weg), which is a historical pilgrim route connecting Bohemia and Saxony. From there I walked via Osek, Louny and Plzen to Schwandorf.
